On July 3, 2024, ILRC filed advocacy comments with USCIS urging certain revisions to affidavit of support forms and instructions. We suggested clarifying language overall and requested the elimination of an extra-regulatory requirement in instructions of biometrics for sponsors and household members. We also asked the agency to reconsider the elimination of the I-864W form which is used to request an exemption from the affidavit of support requirement.
