Manny Guisa
Manny Guisa joined the ILRC in July 2017 and played a key coordinating, administrative, creative, and logistical role in helping to carry out current and long-term fundraising strategies. Beginning in 2019, Manny transitioned to spearhead the ILRC’s Higher Education Technical Assistance Project (HETAP), a partnership with the California Department of Social Services, the Foundation for California Community Colleges, and the California State University Chancellor’s Office aimed at supporting legal services providers, students, faculty, and staff across the state with educational materials about changes in immigration policy. As part of HETAP, Manny also leads a statewide campaign called #FindYourAlly – a multipronged outreach effort designed to increase the utility of immigration legal services across 115 California Community Colleges.
At the ILRC, Manny also manages the ILRC brand and visual identity, leading the organization’s development of owned media and publicly facing interfaces, community materials, and more. His primary focus and biggest passion project are education tools geared toward informing our diverse and directly impacted immigrant communities about the law and their rights.
Outside of his role with the ILRC, Manny enjoys photography, graphic design, documentary filmmaking, bouldering, and anything related to the outdoors. Manny holds a B.A. in Film & Electronic Media and a Minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach.
