Phillip Burton Immigration & Civil Rights Awards

Congressman Phillip Burton

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) proudly honors outstanding individuals for their work on behalf of immigrants. Annually, at the Phillip Burton Awards, ILRC and the community at large gather to celebrate leaders whose work positively affects our society. Named after the late Congressman Phillip Burton, U.S. Representative from California (1964-1983) the awards recognize those who carry on Congressman Burton’s legacy in support of immigrants and human rights. Through the Phillip Burton Awards, the ILRC honors those whose work has significantly impacted and advanced the civil rights of immigrants in the areas of policy, advocacy, or lawyering.
